HostBMS is free for your own hosting business, including billing your own customers. You may not sell or redistribute HostBMS itself, offer it to others as a hosted billing service, or use the HostBMS name or logo for your own product. That's the deal — full text follows.

In plain English: HostBMS is free to use for your own business, including
billing your own customers. You may change it for your own installations.
You may not sell, resell or redistribute HostBMS itself, and you may not use
the HostBMS name or logo for your own product or service. The full terms
follow; if they differ from this summary, the terms below apply.
1. GRANT. You may install, use, modify and run this software ("HostBMS") on
servers you operate or control, for your own business or personal use,
free of charge. This includes using HostBMS to bill, provision and support
your own customers, and charging those customers for your own services.
2. NOT PERMITTED. You may not:
(a) sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense or otherwise charge for HostBMS
itself, or include it in a product or bundle that you sell;
(b) redistribute HostBMS, modified or not, whether free of charge or paid,
including offering it for download or installing it for third parties
to run as their own copy;
(c) offer HostBMS to third parties as a hosted or managed billing service
in which they operate their own billing business on it;
(d) use the name "HostBMS", the HostBMS logos, or any confusingly similar
name or branding for your own product, service or domain, or present
HostBMS or a modified version of it as your own product. Truthful
statements such as "our billing runs on HostBMS" are allowed;
(e) remove or alter copyright, licence or attribution notices in the
source code or in the software's interface ("Powered by HostBMS").
3. MODIFICATIONS. Changes you make are for your own installations only and
carry no obligation to share them. Modified versions remain subject to
this licence, including clause 2.
4. MODULES AND ADD-ONS. You may write your own modules, themes, hooks and
integrations for HostBMS and distribute or sell them separately, provided
they do not include HostBMS code beyond what is needed to interface with
it, and they comply with clause 2(d).
5. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS. HostBMS includes third-party libraries (in the
vendor/ folder) that are licensed under their own terms, such as the MIT
licence, the GNU LGPL (Smarty, TCPDF, PHPMailer) and others. Those terms
apply to those components, and nothing in this licence restricts the
rights they grant you. Their licence texts are in their folders under
vendor/.
6. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES. HostBMS handles invoices, taxes, payments and
customer data. You are responsible for checking that its output is correct
for your business, and for your own compliance with tax, invoicing,
consumer, payment card and data protection laws (including the UK GDPR
where it applies).
7. NO WARRANTY AND NO LIABILITY. HostBMS is provided "as is", without
warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and
fitness for a particular purpose. You run it entirely at your own risk. To
the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors shall not be liable for
any loss arising from its use, including incorrect invoices or tax
calculations, missed or duplicate charges, data loss, downtime, lost
revenue, security breaches, or losses suffered by your own customers. If
you bill third parties with HostBMS, their recourse is to you, not to us.
Nothing in this licence limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. SUPPORT IS NOT INCLUDED. The software is free; our time is not.
Installation help, migrations, repairs and any other support are
chargeable services at our prevailing rates, unless we agree otherwise in
writing.
9. TERMINATION. Any breach of this licence ends your rights under it
immediately. Clauses 2(d), 2(e), 6 and 7 survive termination.
10. OTHER USES. If your use is not covered by this licence, for example you
want to resell or bundle HostBMS, ask first: info@hostbms.com.
